20201127 Autumn in My Heart

 Friday, 27 November

#Today I wanna write a Korean Drama, Autumn In My Heart. Maybe it was the first Korean drama that I watched. Yup, this drama booming when I still in Senior High School, 20 years ago.

https://images.app.goo.gl/g5meFEA4ejfwmL9VA

Autumn in My Heart (Korean가을동화; Hanja가을童話; RRGaeul Donghwa; also known as Autumn Fairy Tale or Autumn Tale) is a 2000 South Korean romantic television drama, starring Song Seung-Heon, Song Hye-Kyo, and Won Bin. The series is the first installment of the season-themed tetralogy Endless Love drama series directed by Yoon Seok-ho. It aired on KBS2 from September 18 to November 7, 2000, on Mondays and Tuesdays for 16 episodes.

The series was very successful in South Korea, averaging viewership ratings of 38.6% and reaching a peak viewership of 46.1%. It is considered a pioneer in Korean melodramatic series, launching a worldwide fever that is commonly referred to as the "Korean Wave". Tours of sites in Korea related to the show have been developed following its success.

The story begins with toddler Yoon Joon-Suh, accidentally causing the switch of his sister and another baby when he drops the name cards on the two babies' cribs in the hospital's baby room. A nurse who comes in puts the name cards back incorrectly. The story then jumps forward to the teenage years of the two main characters: Yoon Eun-Suh (Moon Geun-young) and Yoon Joon-Suh (Choi Woo-hyuk). Eun-Suh is the most popular girl in class, which incites the jealousy of her rival, Choi Shin-ae (Lee Ae-Jung). Shin-ae is smart but does not get the attention she craves from the teacher and her classmates.

When Eun-Suh gets hit by a truck and needs a blood transfusion, it is found out that she is not Yoon's biological daughter. She instead belongs to the Choi's. Choi Shin-ae is also discovered to not be the Choi's biological daughter, but the Yoon's. In the end, the two daughters return to their original birth parents. Shin-ae moves in with the Yoon family, and Eun-Suh moves in with Mrs. Choi, (her biological father is dead) who operates a small restaurant living in abject poverty. Their situations are now reversed. Shin-ae is the more popular girl in class and Eun-Suh is the one ignored. Shortly after the switch, the Yoon family moves to the United States and Eun-Suh loses touch with them.

Ten years later, Joon-Suh (Song Seung-Heon) returns to South Korea as a successful artist. He goes back to his hometown. He encounters his old friend, Han Tae-Seok (Won Bin), who stays at the hotel where Eun-Suh (Song Hye-Kyo) works as a telephone receptionist. Tae-Seok, (who doesn't know about the brother and sister mix-up) falls in love with Eun-Suh and manipulates her until she is fired from her job. One day Eun-Suh sees Joon-Suh and follows him to the beach where he is with his fiancée Yumi (Han Na-na) and Tae-Seok. The two "siblings" finally meet again after ten years.

Eun-Suh and Joon-Suh appear to have a sibling relationship in front of the others, but they meet each other secretly and fall in love even though she always refers to him as "oppa" (older brother). Shin-ae (Han Chae-young) finds out about their relationship and exposes the two after she finds a love letter Eun-Suh wrote to Joon-Suh. The two decide to stay together but are soon forced apart again because their parents are against the union. Yumi hurts herself and blackmails Joon-Suh with suicide to hold on to him.

As a fight between Joon-Suh and Tae-Seok erupts over their love for Eun-Suh, she discovers she has leukemia (the same fatal condition that killed her biological father). She doesn't tell anyone except Tae-Seok, who offers to pay for her treatment. When her health deteriorates, the others begin finding out the extent of her condition. Eun-Suh soon falls into a coma. Joon-Suh finds out about Eun-Suh's health and reacts with shock and fear, while Tae-Seok forces Joon-suh to try to wake up Eun-Suh. Eventually, Eun-Suh wakes up but is too weak to follow the treatment. When it is clear that there is no hope, Joon-Suh takes her home so she can spend her last days with him. At this point, Yumi finally lets go of Joon-Suh. Joon-Suh proposes to Eun-Suh and they get married. Eun-Suh dies as Joon-Suh carries her around the beach where they spent her birthday as teenagers.

Before Eun-Suh dies, she tells Joon-Suh to move on and continue living. However, Joon-Suh, dazed, and grief-stricken by the death of his love, is struck by a truck in the same place as Eun-Suh's accident during her teenage years. It is unknown if he survived the accident.

20201126 Slam Dunk

 Thursday, 26 November

#Today I wanna write about a Japanese Manga, Slam Dunk. I knew this manga when I was in Senior High School. The storyline of this manga about Basketball. I like it.

https://dubbing.fandom.com/wiki/Slam_Dunk

Slam Dunk (Japanese: スラムダンク, Hepburn: Suramu Danku) is a Japanese sports manga series written and illustrated by Takehiko Inoue about a basketball team from Shōhoku High School in the Shōnan area. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from October 1990 to June 1996, with the chapters collected into 31 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha.

It was adapted into an anime series by Toei Animation which aired from October 1993 to March 1996 and has been broadcast worldwide, enjoying much popularity particularly in Japan, several other Asian countries, and Europe.

Slam Dunk has sold over 121 million copies in Japan alone, making it one of the best-selling manga series in history. In 1994, it received the 40th Shogakukan Manga Award for the shōnen category. In 2010, Inoue received special commendations from the Japan Basketball Association for helping popularize basketball in Japan.

Hanamichi Sakuragi is a delinquent and the leader of a gang. Sakuragi is very unpopular with girls, having been rejected an astonishing fifty times. In his first year at Shohoku High School, he meets Haruko Akagi, the girl of his dreams, and is overjoyed when she is not repulsed or scared of him like all the other girls he has asked out.

Haruko, recognizing Sakuragi's athleticism, introduces him to the Shohoku basketball team. Sakuragi is reluctant to join the team at first, as he has no prior experience in sports and thinks that basketball is a game for losers because his fiftieth rejection was in favor of a basketball player. Sakuragi, despite his extreme immaturity and fiery temper, proves to be a natural athlete and joins the team, mainly in the hopes of impressing and getting closer to Haruko. Later on, Sakuragi realizes that he has come to actually love the sport, despite having previously played primarily because of his crush on Haruko. Kaede Rukawa — Sakuragi's bitter rival (both in basketball and because Haruko has a massive crush, albeit one-sided, on Rukawa), the star rookie and a "girl magnet" — joins the team at the same time. Not long after, Hisashi Mitsui, a skilled three-point shooter and ex-junior high school MVP, and Ryota Miyagi, a short but fast point guard, both rejoin the team, and together these four struggle to fulfill team captain Takenori Akagi's dream of winning the national championship. Together, these misfits gain publicity and the once little-known Shohoku basketball team becomes an all-star contender in Japan.

Inoue became inspired to make Slam Dunk as he liked basketball since his high school years. After Inoue started Slam Dunk, he was surprised when he began receiving letters from readers that said they started playing the sport due to the manga. His editor even told him "basketball was a taboo in this world." Due to these letters, Inoue decided he wanted to draw better basketball games in the series. With the series, Inoue wanted to demonstrate the feelings of some athletes such as their thoughts when they win, lose, or improve at their sport. When he started making Vagabond, he noted that when he was doing Slam Dunk he had a simpler perspective on life as he focused more on victories and success.

With the series, Inoue wants the readers to feel achievements as well as love for the sport. Thinking that his success as a manga artist being largely due to basketball, Inoue organized a Slam Dunk Scholarship for Japanese students as he wanted to give back to the sport by increasing its popularity in Japan. However, when asked about the response from readers to basketball, Inoue commented that although Slam Dunk is technically a basketball manga, its story could have been done with other sports such as football. He also added that the artwork for the manga was very typical and manga like in comparison to his newer works such as Real. His experiences with basketball also influenced the story from Slam Dunk: as a youth Inoue started playing basketball to be popular with the girls, but later became interested with the sport in and of itself. This was mirrored in the character of Hanamichi Sakuragi, who starts playing basketball to be popular with the girl he likes, to later become truly fond of the game.

Written and illustrated by Takehiko Inoue, the series was originally published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from October 1, 1990, to June 17, 1996. The 276 individual chapters were originally collected in 31 tankōbon volumes under Shueisha's Jump Comics imprint, with the first being published on February 8, 1991, and the final volume on October 3, 1996. It was later reassembled into 24 kanzenban volumes under the Jump Comics Deluxe imprint from March 19, 2001, to February 2, 2002. A 20 volume shinsōban edition was published between June 1, 2018, and September 1, 2018.

In North America, an English version of Slam Dunk was published by the now-defunct Gutsoon! Entertainment, which serialized the title in their manga anthology raijin comics from 2002 to 2004. Five collected volumes were published under Gutsoon's Raijin Graphic Novels imprint. They were released from July 2, 2003, until May 5, 2004. After Gutsoon! went out of business, the license for Slam Dunk was purchased by Viz Media, which published a preview of the series in the December 2007 issue of the North American edition of Shonen Jump. Slam Dunk began serialization in the magazine, starting with the May 2008 issue, as well as in tankōbon format with the first being published on September 2, 2008. As of December 3, 2013, Viz has published all 31 volumes of their translated edition.

In 2004, Inoue produced an epilogue titled Slam Dunk: 10 Days After, which was drawn on 23 chalkboards in the former campus of the defunct Misaki High School located in the Kanagawa Prefecture, and was held for public exhibition for three days between December 3 and 5. The epilogue, along with coverage of the event, was reprinted in the February 2005 issue of Switch magazine.

An anime series, consisting of 101 episodes, was produced by Toei Animation and directed by Nobutaka Nishizawa. It was the first broadcast on TV Asahi from October 16, 1993, to March 23, 1996. It was later aired on the satellite television network, Animax, in addition to four animated movies produced. The anime followed the manga storyline, but left out the National Tournament games. Toei compiled the episodes into a series of seventeen DVDs which were released in Japan from December 10, 2004, to May 21, 2005. Toei once again collected the series in three DVD boxes during 2008. All three boxes have a total of seventeen discs.

Toei and Geneon briefly teamed up to release the anime on DVD in North America after the manga was discontinued, though this was also discontinued after only a few volumes. The first DVD was released on March 15, 2005, and volume 4 was the last one released on June 14, 2005, before they were canceled. Various episodes from the series were also downloadable in IGN's Direct2Drive service. Toei is currently streaming episodes of the series online for a fee and for free through Crunchyroll. Joost also started airing all 101 episodes as of May 2009 on their website.

The music was composed by Takanobu Masuda (from episode 1 to 61) and BMF (from episode 62 to 101). Three CD soundtracks were published during the airing of the series in Japan. The openings, ending and other two themes were collected into the CD soundtrack The Best of TV Animation Slam Dunk, released on July 21, 2003.

Four films were produced by Toei Animation from 1994 to 1995 while the manga and TV series was still running. They contain largely new material that is either only hinted at or is not presented in the manga. From August 1 to 4, 2006, NHK broadcast all four movies as part of its satellite networks NHK BS-2's Summer Anime Choice line-up, and TV Osaka aired the last three movies from January 3 to 8, 2007. All the films were collected into a DVD box named Slam Dunk The Movie which was released on December 10, 2004.

The first film, simply titled Slam Dunk, premiered on March 12, 1994. Set after Shohoku's practice game against Ryonan, the film focuses on a practice game against Takezono High. Before the game, Sakuragi runs into Yoko Shimura, the girl who rejects him in the very first scene of the series, and Oda, the basketball player she rejected him for. Zenkoku Seiha da! Sakuragi Hanamichi, released on July 9, 1994, is the second film from the series. It happens during Shohoku's 4th Round Qualifying game against Tsukubu High. The film features original characters including Godai, an old friend of Akagi and Kogure's, Rango, a wild show-off who is in love with Haruko and quarrels with Sakuragi, and Coach Kawasaki, a former pupil of Anzai-sensei. Shohoku Saidai no Kiki! Moero Sakuragi Hanamichi was released on March 4, 1995. Set after Shohoku's loss to Kainan, and during a practice match against Ryokufu High. Hoero Basukettoman Tamashii!! Hanamichi to Rukawa no Atsuki Natsu, which was released on June 15, 1995, tells that Rukawa's middle school kouhai Ichiro Mizusawa will be paralyzed soon and wishes to have one last game against Rukawa.

Numerous video games based on the series, mostly developed by Banpresto and produced by Bandai, have been published for the Japanese market. Two basketball sims titled Slam Dunk Gakeppuchi no Kesshō League and Slam Dunk 2 were released for the game boy. the super Famicom had three games, Slam Dunk: Shikyou GekitotsuSlam Dunk 2: IH Yosen Kanzenban!!, and SD Heat Up!!Slam Dunk games have also been released for the Game Gear, Mega Drive, and Sega Saturn. A Slam Dunk coin-operated arcade game developed by Video System and published by Banpresto was released in 1995, which was called From TV Animation Slam Dunk: Super Slams. During development, the game was called 3 on 3 Dunk Madness and did not have the Slam Dunk license. Characters of the series also appear in the Nintendo DS games Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars.

Unofficial game modifications have been made by fans for NBA 2K13 (PC Version).

The collected volumes of Slam Dunk sold over 100 million copies by 2004, and over 118 million by 2012. The title had more than 121 million copies sold by 2014 and is Shueisha's fifth best-selling manga series. In 1994, it received the 40th Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen manga. Until it was broken in 2002, volumes 21 through 23 of Slam Dunk held the record for the initial printing of a manga at 2.5 million copies. The imprint version of Slam Dunk: 10 Days After was popular, having initially ranked 6th and then 15th in Oricon's weekly ranking of the manga. The first six volumes of the shinsōban edition of the original manga all reached the top eight of their release week, with the highest being the first volume at number two. The English translation of the series was listed as one of the best comics of 2008 by Publishers Weekly. Similarly, the Young Adult Library Services Association named the first volume one of its "Great Graphic Novels for Teens" in early 2009.

The success of Slam Dunk is cited as an influence in the increased popularity of basketball among the Japanese youth during the 1990s. The Slam Dunk Scholarship program was created in 2006 by Inoue and Shueisha. The winning 17- to 18-year-old recipient receives a fully paid academic and athletic scholarship to a university-preparatory school in America if they pass the school's admission interview. In 2010, Inoue received special commendations from the Japan Basketball Association for helping popularize basketball in Japan and the scholarship program. In a poll of close to 79,000 Japanese fans for the 10th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2006, Slam Dunk was voted the #1 manga of all time. In the Japanese government's 2009 Media Arts 100 Poll of the public's favorite works of art of all time, Slam Dunk took first place in the manga division. In a survey from Oricon in 2009, it was ranked first as the manga that fans wanted to be turned into a live-action film. In November 2014, readers of Media Factory's Da Vinci magazine voted Slam Dunk number 4 on a list of Weekly Shōnen Jump's greatest manga series of all time.

The anime adaptation has also been very popular in Japan. In TV ASAHI'S 2005 Top 100 Anime survey of multiple age groups, Slam Dunk ranked as the 8th most popular anime. In another poll from TV Asashi but developed by a website, the series ranked 10th. The home video release of the anime also had good sales, having appeared on Oricon's Japanese Animation DVD and Blu-ray rankings.

 Wednesday, 25 November

#Today was a busy day. I (still) should take care of my niece and nephew.

https://images.app.goo.gl/rGqx3cp7hFJbi9fq7

Tomorrow, they will have the test. So, I accompany them to study. I should arrange what will they do first and the next.

I started to keep my eyes when my sister went to work. I saw the online class and what they do.

After the online class finished, I gave a break time to them, before they continued to do their homework and tasks. And I did my tasks as long as their break time.

When my tasks finished, I continued to help them did their homework and tasks. It happened until bedtime.😥😥😥

It is so tired and my legs limp.

When they slept, I still washed our clothes. Because I knew that I didn't have enough time to wash tomorrow. Not only that, I rarely hold my phone. 😅😅😅

202011124

 Tuesday, 24 November

#Today I tried to teach my nephew to make a decision.

In the afternoon, I have 5 missing called from my eldest sister and her husband. I didn't hear my phone rang because I lied it at the desk and I was in the living room with my niece. Yup, she had a test for tomorrow. So, I accompany her to study.

After we finished it, my niece goes to the desk and she looked that her mom called and she gave the phone to me.

And I was surprised that my nephew not yet sent his English task. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

So, my eldest sister asked me to help him to do the task. Because his teacher has noticed him send the task before 5 p.m. If he didn't do it, he will get 0 points.

His dad many times scolded him. I also grumbled to him.

Because he didn't know about the topic, so he gave up and admitted his mistake to his teacher. Finally, his teacher gave him a chance to join the remedial class on Friday. 😥😥😥

In the evening, I came to him. I saw the studies for the test tomorrow lazily.

So, I asked him to choose between his mother or me to help him with his study. He didn't answer directly. Many times he answers outside the option. And many times I confirmed to him that the option only 2 and he should choose.

I told him that the purpose of what I asked was for teaching him to make a decision. I also told about the risk of each option.

https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FCjBGNz-Z5WA%2Fmaxresdefault.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DCjBGNz-Z5WA&tbnid=A9yhP2HIKtjo8M&vet=1&docid=RwP_BNFmEdd5tM&w=1280&h=720&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim

After a long time to think, finally, he chose me. So, I confirmed to him that he should follow my rules. And he agreed.

He was not stupid. He is just lazy. And why he became lazy? Because of his parents.

His parents treated him roughly, while his sister softly. It made him jealous. I knew that he needs his parents' attention. But no one understands.

I tried to approach him but he has made a barrier for me. I will just be patient to face him.

20201123

 Monday, 23 November

#Today I still took care of my niece and nephew. But I prefer my niece. Because my nephew didn't like it if I took care of him.

On Friday, he told me that he can take care of himself and no need me. It made me angry. I texted his mom what he said. Of course, it made his mother angry too. And she tried to calm down me.

https://depositphotos.com/136607706/stock-photo-take-care-sticky-note-reminder.html

So today, I didn't care for him. I didn't care about his tasks and homework. I just served everything outside his school.

But in the evening, he has scolded by his dad. Because he didn't yet study for the test tomorrow. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

So, I helped him to study. I encourage him to read the topic and then I asked some questions to him. It was liked what I did to his sister.

I didn't have many times, so I should test them together.

Finally, we have done it before bedtime. 😌😌😌

20201122 Pagophagia

 Sunday, 22 November

#Today I found the new term of psychology, pagophagia. When I read the meaning, directly I remembered one of my eldest sister and youngest brother's habits. Yup, they like to chew ice. 😅😅😅

https://images.app.goo.gl/ZAxRWjicKnSw55xV7

Pagophagia (from Greek: pagos, frost/ice, + phagō, to eat) is the compulsive consumption of ice or iced drinks. It is a form of the disorder pica, and has been associated with iron-deficiency anemia, and shown to respond to iron supplementation, leading some investigators to postulate that some forms of pica may be the result of nutritional deficiency. Chewing ice may lessen pain in glossitis related to iron-deficiency anemia. However, the American Dental Association recommends not chewing ice because it can crack teeth; instead, ice should be allowed to melt in the mouth.

Folk wisdom (and some early investigators) maintained that pica reflected an appetite to compensate for nutritional deficiencies, such as low iron or zinc. Some forms of pica (as in pregnant women who are iron deficient) can be treated by supplementing the nutrient.

Later research has demonstrated that the substances ingested generally do not provide the mineral or nutrient in which patients are deficient. As the people start eating nonfoods, pica can also cause nutritional deficiencies with which it is associated. In one case study, pagophagia was reported to cause iron-deficiency anemia. At the same time, however, the researchers suggested that chewing ice may benefit stomatitis and glossitis. The nutrients obtained from nonfoods such as soil or ice can vary widely depending on geographic location. For example, ice made from hard water contains more minerals, especially calcium and magnesium, but simply drinking the water provides the same minerals.
